Dad was  a stickler for looking appropriately dressed.

I remember our Kevin coming down the stairs dressed as a punk. Tight jeans, chains, safety pins the lot. Dad took one look at him and said "what the H**l are you supposed to be?" and Kevin said. very proudly "I'm a punk" to which Dad replied "well you're not leaving my house dressed like that. You can be a punk in your jeans"

Got to say that did not go down well with Kevin LOL
